The Quad Core Is Here for Traders!

If you are a trader in the markets and have been waiting to upgrade your computer, now might be the time. The reason is that the new Intel QX6700 CPU is here. This is a quad processor CPU. That means it actually has four processors in it!  For this reason, the performance of the Quad Core is very compelling, and you should consider having it in your trading computer. I have seen several tests that were impressive with multiple trading applications.

Generally, as you may know, many traders have several programs open at one time, spreading across several screens. A trader might run eSignal, a broker entry application, a news site and a chat room, to mention a few. This takes power to run, and there is nothing better than having four processors to do it! (See the following chart showing the Exceptional Multimedia Performance.)

Exceptional Multi-media Performance

Because this new CPU has four Core 2 Duo processors, it substantially improves performance over the dual processor. It features a dual 4MB L2 cache and operates on a 1066MHz FSB.

This processor has a huge degree of hype in today’s media because it is revolutionary. For traders running several programs and using multiple screens, this should be the processor to get, especially if you are running more than 4 monitor screens.

So, if you are a trader wanting a powerful trading workhorse, this might be the CPU for you. The Intel QX6700 CPU looks to be the most powerful processor on the market today for power-hungry traders
