The News Manager and News Services

The eSignal News Manager allows access to real-time headlines and stories. It lets the user search for news headlines based on symbol, service and / or keywords. eSignal offers a wide variety of news services, which are all subscription based. The News Manager window can be part of an existing page or can be popped out and viewed outside the frame of the page. 

Divided into two panes, the News Manager window displays headlines in the top pane and displays headline text, for anyheadlines the user would like to read, in the other pane. (See the following screenshot.)

The News Manager can be customized to retrieve specific headlines, which can be filtered by Symbol, Service and / or Keyword. In the following picture, for example, we selected from the display options the choice for only “Dow Jones News Service”, and the list of headlines only from Dow Jones News Service appeared.  The “Service” field in the News Manager window identifies the source of the headline and has a two-letter designation (for example, “DJ” in the following screenshot).

In this other example, we entered the symbol “GOOG” in the Symbol field and selected “All Services” in the Service field. The list displays headlines from all services but only ones related to Google.

To use the eSignal News Manager window, the user must subscribe to at least one news service.  Among the services offered by eSignal, we have Business Wire, PR Newswire, The Fly on the Wall, Dow Jones News, Futures services and International services.
