Trading Mastery

By Larry Jacobs, Editor of Traders World magazine

Trading mastery involves having the right computer and multiple monitors, as well as knowing the proper trading techniques and psychology behind these techniques.

First off, I personally believe that a successful trader needs to have an Intel-based dual core computer with at least an e6600 CPU, 2MB of RAM and three to six monitors. Currently, I really like the Samsung 204B 20-inch monitor for a trading configuration. The 24- and 27-inch monitors are coming down in price. So, within six months, they will be the preferred monitors to buy. Desktop stands are necessary if you plan to use more than two monitors. I like the dual, triple and quad vertical stands.

The notebook trading computer will be coming in shortly. In addition, a new platform is coming out this month by Intel. It’s called Intel Centrino Duo Processor technology. It is much faster and will give you double the performance on your trading notebook with innovative power-saving features to extend your battery life. It also has much faster memory. Even more, it has new, integrated wireless that is up to 5 times better than previous technology. You will also be able to plug in a card and get up to 4 external monitors; each can be up to 24 inches in size.

As I said: Knowing the proper trading techniques is important. You can find these techniques in several ways: Get a knowledgeable tutor to train you; read financial trading books from successful traders; go into chat rooms and listen to the gurus talk about how they trade the markets; attend a traders' conference at a major city; or visit a traders' online expo on the web.
