Arps Trend Index (Radar 3)

This powerful oscillator from Jan Arps’ Traders’ Toolbox has been designed to give the user the clearest possible insight into the direction of the overall trend. The plot is displayed as a magenta/blue histogram. When the bars are blue and above the centerline, the trend is up. Magenta bars above the centerline indicate a pullback in an uptrend. When the bars are magenta and below the centerline, the trend is down. Blue bars below the centerline indicate a pullback in a downtrend. This is a very robust indicator that works across all time frames.

NOTE: Before modifying any inputs, be sure you have read the section entitled "Using Input Settings."

Inputs include:

Time Horizon (Default =3, Range = 1-10) The higher the value of Time Horizon, the less sensitive the indicator becomes. The optimum value for this input factor will vary from market to market and time frame to time frame. You will be able to use the Arps Trend Index most effectively by tailoring its Time Horizon input factor to the chart you are evaluating. It was designed to give you the maximum control over the market trends you are most interested in.Color Change Sensitivity

(Default=2, Range = 1-9) This input controls the sensitivity of the bar-color-change algorithm. The higher the number, the less sensitive.
